Dalia Dejesus is a senior at Dee Mack High School. She has paved a record breaking path in her basketball career, and she isn’t done yet.
She started off her career playing travel basketball with boys in second grade and then moved on to play on the school’s girl team in 5th grade. Dalia is a 3 year captain of the girls team and 4 year varsity starter. Her team is currently ranked 3rd in the state for 3A and they have a current record of 18-1.

She summarizes that, “I’ve stuck with basketball for so long because it is my main source of discipline. I love the game, but seeing all of the long hours in the gym pay off, is a rewarding process. I’ve grown many bonds with people that never would’ve happened if I didn’t play basketball. Basketball has taught me many life lessons like resilience, humility, and has built my social skills.”
Dalia has gotten the opportunity to attend and play at Quincy university, a NCAA Division II college.
She has an amazing record for her high school career. Recently, she has met her year’s goal of 2000 points which is a rare accomplishment to get in under 4 seasons. We are so excited to see how much she continues to grow over her upcoming college career!
