After revealing to social media that she had been planning a project for nearly two years, Alix Earle launched her skincare brand, Reale Actives, on March 31. The line consists of four products, a cleanser, makeup melting balm, a moisturizer, and a mandelic acid. Alix Earle gained popularity on social media through her “get ready with me” videos showcasing her makeup routine, and she later opened up about her personal battle with acne. Now having been released over a week ago, let’s take a look at the products and what they are, what they target, and some of the reviews they have received.
MAKEUP MELTING CLEANSING BALM
As she has discussed in social media posts, one of the biggest staples in her skincare line was double cleansing. This balm is meant to melt away your makeup while also cleansing your skin. This product is additionally ophthalmologist tested, meaning it is completely safe to use on your eyes for mascara removal. This product is clinically proven to: remove long wear makeup, improve skin texture and smoothness, leave your skin feeling softer, and it is gentle and suitable for sensitive skin. Reviews on this product have praised it for being lightweight and gentle on their skin, as well as it not leaving fogginess in their eyes after use as other makeup balms do.
EXFOLIATING GEL CLEANSER
As the second round of cleansing, this gel cleanser is powered by BHA and LHA in order to exfoliate, unclog pores, and boost brightness. This cleanser is meant to suit sensitive skin, with non-abrasive exfoliation that also removes excess oil without drying out your skin. This product is clinically proven to reduce visible redness, remove impurities from the first use, refine your pores, and brighten the appearance of your skin. MANDELIC ACID SERUM
After double cleansing, the next step in your Reale Actives routine is the 8% mandelic acid serum. This serum is high-impact, but non-stripping. This product clarifies, resurfaces, and refines texture, ultimately allowing your skin to glow texture-free. This product was tested over 8 weeks, and through the study this serum is clinically proven to: Reduce the look of post-acne marks and post-acne visible redness, smooth skin and improve texture, even skin tone, improve overall skin quality, and reduce the appearance of both pores and redness. This product has been praised by users for being non-irritating and not oily, with some users noting that other mandelic acid serums have made their skin produce excess oil.
BARRIER-BOOSTING MOISTURIZER
The last step of the Reale routine is moisturizing; and this moisturizer is extremely hydrating and skin barrier boosting. This moisturizer allows your skin to stay calm, hydrated, and visibly glowy without irritation. This product has received some mixed reviews, with some claiming it is very thick and others saying the opposite. It has also received some backlash, as it is formulated with shea butter– however most people claim it makes their skin feel refreshed and calm.

This skincare line is relatively new, so as people use it more there will be more reviews and results on these products. Alix’s skincare launch has been received very positively though, as her fanbase feels like they can trust her since she has had acne struggles in the past, and also due to the length of time she spent developing each product, spending over two and a half years on the skincare line. The line has also been widely praised for being affordable which is oftentimes a big issue with high quality skincare products.
