Lasting Word
Esoteric daze, cannot decipher through the haze,
Rhetoric craze, a frantic run through the maze.
Caloric burning and aerobic ablaze.
Physique manifest in even the brain’s grays.
Ballets and cafes allays airways beset by aftermath of ashtrays,
Imagine bouquets in clay’s glaze, either side of archways,
Don’t hold the blinding sun’s gaze, rays that are brighter during the days.
The man prays and denies his deity praise,
The phrase about how hard for people like him to imagine the way berets betray,
Preys on strays that come to the bays, then inland to take and burn maize.
Now in the past stays his life and ways,
But even in the present his thought still weighs,
Words still holding immense sways.
Come and see what fate finally plays.
