Jerry Hahn is a senior at Dee-Mack High School. He plays baseball and basketball, but basketball has always been his favorite. He has been playing basketball since he was three years old and will continue to play in college. Jerry started playing at the YMCA in Bloomington and from there has been practicing since. His dad played basketball as a kid and wanted him to play and Jerry loved watching the sport, so he got him into it as early as he could.
He says that his favorite part of basketball is, “winning games and getting to know new people off of playing with different teams around the area. I’ve met a lot of my friends today through basketball and traveled with friends and it has given me some of the best memories of my life”
Jerry has made over 1000 points in his high school career. The team has tied for the most wins in Dee-Mack History and have been the 2nd team in 1a’s all state. He continues to play because basketball brings a lot of joy in his life and he wouldn’t want to stop playing it now, plus the environment of basketball in college is something he really wants to be a part of.
It has been a pleasure learning about Jerry, check back in for the next Beyond the Bell!
