After bringing countless classic films such as Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and Cinderella to life, Disney has officially turned its attention to Tangled. As a live-action version of this film has topped fan wish lists for years now, their lengthy search for Rapunzel and Flynn Rider just recently ended on January 7, 2026. Originally voice acted by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim will star as Rapunzel and Flynn in the live action adaptation!
Fans may recognize 24-year-old Milo Manheim from his lead role in all three Disney original Zombies movies, or his 2018 run on Dancing With The Stars. Following the casting announcement, Manheim announced on Instagram “Too grateful to put into words. I will do him justice, I promise.” As he was placed into countless fan “dream casts” as Flynn Rider, there was overall an extremely positive response to his role in the adaptation.
Teagan Croft, who will star as Rapunzel, is a bit more of an unfamiliar face. The 21-year-old actress is known primarily for her role as Raven in the HBO Max superhero series Titans. The series ran from 2018 to 2023. She also starred in the Australian movie True Spirit, portraying Jessica Watson. As she is lesser known, fans have shown excitement towards seeing her lead the film as Rapunzel.
Though Disney has not announced a release date or a trailer, this live-action adaptation is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated. The next casting search is for Mother Gothel, who is currently in talks to be portrayed by Kathryn Hahn. Directed by Michael Gracey, who also directed The Greatest Showman, fans have high hopes for the new faces of Tangled!
