The East Peoria Festival of Lights started in 1985 and has grown into a huge holiday tradition. It began as an effort to boost community spirit and attract visitors to the area during the holiday season. The main attraction is the parade, featuring floats adorned with lights that depict various holiday themes and characters. The parade route winds through the city, delighting spectators of all ages.
One of the festival’s most iconic symbols is the “Christmas Man,” a large, lighted figure that has become a beloved part of the celebration. Over the years, the festival has expanded to include other attra
ctions like Folepi’s Winter Wonderland, a drive-through display with even more lighted creations donated by local businesses. The show is located off of Springfield road in East Peoria. It does cost money per car to get in and the show opens 5-9 Sunday through Thursday then is open 5-11 on Fridays and Saturdays!
