Gallows
Liberty, Liberty, may you rest in peace.
You were murdered and strangled and no longer breathe.
Until that day when again we may meet,
We will be with your child: Anarchy.
It’s barreling towards you, can’t you see?
How dare you support your enemy.
Yet fly your flag– “Don’t tread on me.”
Are you happy now, O Liberty?
1600 Pennsylvania, Washington D.C.
The Sanctum of Sin empowered by Greed.
The White House runs red as civilians bleed.
Washington must at last be washed clean.
Justice stands back when money is seen.
The only law we see is the Law of Murphy.
System of Evil, how do you plead,
Here in the court of the Vox Populi?
Innocence lost, but they’re not sorry.
There is nothing left for them to plea.
The People cry out, “Guilty! Guilty!”
A millstone hung ‘round and tossed to the sea.
We see your true colors, they’re black as can be.
Scheming in shadows for a century.
Gallows lined up from the river to the sea.
You stung, now you die– the life of a bee.
In the gallows hang their iniquity.
Of corruption, man will at last be free.
From the gallows, the last thing they’ll see
Is that there are no strings on me.
