When the Seahawks (14-3) and 49ers (13-5) face off, it never feels like just another football game. There’s history, tension, and years of bad blood packed into every snap. Players on both sides know each other well, fans come in already emotional, and the stakes couldn’t be higher for both teams. This matchup is a win or go home situation. That pressure is what makes this rivalry so intense, especially in January.

The Seahawks have had a great gritty season so far. They have battled, grown, and learned hard lessons all while still being competitive week in and out. Seattle was supposed to be just another 9-8 team that missed the playoffs this year but with the help of new rookies, pro bowlers, and the best wide receiver in the league (Jaxson Smith Nijgba) they went 14-3 and made the #1 seed in the NFC. The Seahawks clinched the #1 seed in the last week of the season against the 49ers with a low scoring 13-3 victory.
The 49ers came into the season with high expectations to win their division and be one of the best teams in the NFL. At first they were living up to it beating the Seahawks in week 1 13-7 but quickly their season flashed before their eyes when their starting quarterback Brock Purdy went down with an injury. Everybody started doubting but their backup quarterback Mac Jones got them enough wins and Brock Purdy came back in time for them to be able to make contention for playoffs. The 49ers had more injuries besides Brock Purdy that have made obstacles throughout this year, yet they still have pushed through that adversity and had a shot to be the #1 seed in the NFC.
This game between the Seahawks and 49ers is one of the most highly anticipated matchups this weekend. This rivalry rematch at Lambeau field is going to be an absolute classic. Will the 49ers be able to withstand the Seattle homefield advantage? Will Sam Darnold and Seattle prove everybody wrong again? Find out this Saturday at 7:00pm.
