Dee-Mack hosts Annawan-Wethersfield for a second round playoff game. Annawan will be driving an hour and 30 minutes to play at Jim Mcdonald Field at 3:00pm this Saturday.
Annawan-Wethersfield is 10-0 and is coming off a big first round win against Stark County (31-8). Annawan is ranked 18th in the state for class 1a and is the #2 seed on their side of the bracket. Last time Annawan and Dee-Mack faced off Annawan won 41-6 in the first round of the 2023 playoffs. Annawan won their conference unanimously, only allowing 70 points in conference play. Annawan is looking to take care of business on the road and move to the semi-finals.
The Dee-Mack Chiefs are in the 2nd round of the playoffs for the first time in four years. The Chiefs are 7-3 and are looking to turn their four game win streak into a 5 game win streak. Last week the Chiefs pulled off an upset on #7 seed Chicago Crane blowing them out 52-34. Shaun Denniston continued his dominance by running for 199 yards and 4 touchdowns, he also added on a receiving touchdown. The Chiefs want to use this momentum and home field to an advantage to impress their home crowd and possibly bring home another playoff game. ¨ Fans can expect an intense game but a joyous victory to come with,¨ says junior lineman Joey Humphries.
