Dee-Mack vs El Paso Gridley at Jim McDonald field on September 12th. It is the first time EPG heads to Dee-Mack to face off in 3 years. Both teams are 2-0 and looking to stay undefeated.
EPG and Dee-Mack have had good battles in the past, but EPG got the best of Dee-Mack last year in a close one coming down to the wire winning 19-14. The last time the Titans came to Dee-Mack, the Chiefs won in a defensive battle 16-8. EPG’s record last year was 6-4. making the playoffs, but falling in the 1st round to Seneca 39-23. The Chiefs went 5-5 and sneaked into the playoffs but ultimately fell in the first round to Farmington 21-0.
The Titans are a young team but experienced, most of their key skill players are returning with Javion and Chavon Maxon brother receiver duo. They have some new members on the offense line as they lost some seniors up front. They are a fast team and they like to get their skill players the ball out in space. They faced Reed Custer winning 28-14 and Fieldcrest dominating them 49-6. This is EPG’s first away game and they are looking to keep their undefeated season alive. EPG has no senior starters on their team so they are relying on juniors, sophomores and freshmen to help their team to victory.
The Chiefs has 7 senior starters, 2 of them are out. Dee-Mack is looking for the next man up. Dee-Mack’s running back Shaun Denniston with 7 touchdowns in 2 games and Quarterback Zack Day leading the team to 2 dominating victories.They faced Eureka in week 1 beating them 38-8 and Tremont in week 2 beating them 42-13. This is the Chiefs home opener and they are looking to draw a big crowd.” We want to play Physical and run the ball on them” Zack Day. If the chiefs come out on top this will be the first time in 8 years since they have been 3-0. Dee-Mack is trying to make it their 3rd straight year going to the playoffs.
