Sloan Fry is a Freshman at Dee-Mack High school! A fun fact about her is that all of her brothers have attended Dee-Mack, and her mother works at the high school. She is on our cheer team and does competitive cheer outside of school at the Classical Dance Academy in Pekin, Illinois.

She has been dancing for about 13 years and she started when she was 2. Her hours of cheer are long, she is there for 6 hours on Sundays and 4 hours Tuesday and Thursday. She does contemporary, ballet, jazz, musical theater, tap, hip-hop, and open dance.
Her sport takes a lot of physical hardship but also mental. Your mindset is so much more important than ability because if you aren’t mentally ready you won’t be ready to perform physically. Sloan tries to live up to that mentality when dancing. She has received lots of awards including, “Best in show” for groups and have even gotten many judges awards for her solo’s.
It has been a pleasure to learn about Sloan, come back next time for another feature!
