As the holiday season approaches, decorating fun begins! This opens the huge debate of when to decorate for Christmas! Is there a right or wrong answer? Here at Dee-Mack, we received a wide variety of responses as to when it is appropriate to decorate for Christmas.
When discussing the time frame of when to put up decorations most people replied saying they start after Thanksgiving with a few saying before Thanksgiving but after Halloween. Some responses even said that they put up decorations before Halloween! Putting up decorations ranges between going all out with multiple Christmas trees and lights to any decorative pillow or blanket. Some respondents expressed how they slowly ease into going all out by starting with a few decorative knick knacks and each week building up by adding more decorations.
The most commonly known Christmas decoration is unsurprisingly a Christmas tree! Almost everyone responded to the poll saying they put up a Christmas tree with the exception of one person. Once the tree is up, there are various ways to decorate the tree depending on the vibe you are going for. An example is a nostalgic family vibe with ornaments from the past, some even being homemade. Another is having a white snow covered tree using red ornaments to keep it simple and elegant. A girly winter wonderland example is using a white snow covered tree and using ornaments in all different shades of pink! All of these tree ideas bring their own type of holiday cheer!
Now it’s time to go all out! When going the extra mile to bring the Christmas vibes and aesthetic to life! Look no further than, our very own Ms. Putney who brings the Christmas winter wonderland to life in her house and in her front yard! Throughout the levels of her house, 12 Christmas trees are decorated for the holiday cheer! Not only does she have all the trees, she also has Christmas villages with 200 pieces, creating a festive and detailed holiday display. When traveling outside, many people will notice the 6 Christmas trees out there as well as beautiful bright lights seen from miles away.

When the debate arises of the “right” time to decorate for Christmas, there truly is no right or wrong answer; it all comes down to personal preference. Whether it’s starting before or after Thanksgiving, the act of decorating, from ranging between simple knick knacks to elaborate displays bringing joy and holiday cheer in festive atmospheres.
