
Social Media is great for many things, but there are negatives that come with it.
Social Media has taken over a lot of aspects of peoples life, some also don’t realize how much social media has taken over their everyday lives. Social media has been a way to keep the mind busy when the mind is bored. It can also take away from socialization and mental health which go hand in hand. A lot of teens today struggle with mental health and social media doesn’t help the case, it only makes it worse. It’s not necessarily the cause of poorer health, it’s just the way social media is used.

Positive Impact:
- Social media allows access a way for people to reach their family and friends
- Can save memories and help create memories, like making tiktoks or creating a funny videos
- It provides a way to stay connected with peers
- It also allows people to stay alert of what is happening around them, like life events
- Provides online communities in multiple different topics
Negative Impact
- Increased cyberbullying, not only do some kids get bullied in school now they can get bullied through social media and it follows them wherever they go.
- It can also play a role in a mood, this can be both positive and negative but, if something is seen and it makes the person happy then it’s a positive and if they come across something and it’s bad it can ruin their entire mood.
- Can make oneself feel bad about themselves
- Can create addiction of cyberbullying
- Increase loneliness, fear of missing out, decreases image of well-being and life satisfaction

Most people are big fans of social media, and use it in their everyday lives, but it can be a very addictive part of one’s life. Social media isn’t always a negative thing if it is used wisely.
