Now that the middle of Hope Week is here, it is a good time to learn about why we are fundraising this week! Hope Week is a week-long fundraising event that is supporting an amazing, local cause, Camp Hope. Camp Hope is a full week where kids that are battling cancer, sickle cell disease, and blood disorders and their siblings are able to experience summer camp. This is a life changing week for these kids and they look forward to every year. These kids are able to feel seen as well as know that they are not alone. Camp Hope is located on Lake Bloomington and the majority of campers that attend the camp are local to the Peoria/Bloomington areas. The Hope Week theme this year is Holidays, as is the Camp Hope week. All decorations that are used during Hope Week will be donated to Camp Hope at the end of the week.
On Monday, there was an assembly with multiple speakers representing the St. Jude Run Team, Camp Hope, and more organizations. Hope Week consists of many fun activities like dress up days and coin wars. The dress up days started on Monday through Friday are Christmas Pajamas, Halloween Costumes, Valentines colors, Patriotic Colors, and ending the week with Hope Week shirts. Be sure to finish out the week strong with participating in the dress up days, item scavenger hunt, and coin wars. On Friday, February 7th, there will be a girls basketball game vs. Havana. There will be raffle baskets and opportunities to donate to Camp Hope. In total, Hope Week has brought in $123, 601. We are looking forward to a fun week for a great cause!
