A part of life is knowing the way around it. It’s acknowledging the right and wrongs of relationships and friendships, coping with emotions, and finding your true self. In high school everything changes which makes you set into reality by realizing life is going to have ups and downs, but somehow you’re going to have to manage your way through it. Everyone has learned a big life lesson this past year, here are some they are willing to share;
Senior, Anna Wynn describes the biggest lesson she learned in 2024 was to not care about what other people think of her and to be authentically herself. During this time it made her feel super drained by always trying to fit in and be someone you’re not. Anna notes, “Don’t make yourself be any less just because the crowds doing it.” One thing she mentioned was always being close to God because he is the only one that can judge her. Although, when learning this lesson she quotes, “Getting the weight off my shoulders when always trying to live expectations for other people.” Her experience changed her in a positive way to where she can finally feel free.
Freshman, Gabby Vitale expresses her biggest life lesson is you can’t please everybody. Gabby notes,“I always tried to be a people. You know to get other people to like me, even though I knew they weren’t like how I am. It just made me take a step back.” When learning this valuable experience, Gabby’s mom actually was the biggest influence during this. It made her gain some self respect by letting go of the toxic people.
Sophomore, Joey Humphries explains his biggest takeaway from 2024 is 99% of people quit before they win big. He gives inspiration by always putting in 100% with everything you have. Joey’s words of wisdom is to never give up and to see the positives in everything. The biggest influence that was written was his parents because they motivated him to be the best version of himself.
Many people go through ups and downs in their lives, which makes them have a new perspective on thoughts, future sayings, and just the way they live. For example, Anna, Joey, and Gabby express how they gained a new life lesson. Taking away this new life lesson wouldn’t be able to show them the changes that they’ve gone through in the build of character they gained.
