Each month, one teacher is given the “Thumbs Up” Award for being outstanding in their kindness, helpfulness, and love toward their students. A teacher can get the award by being there when the students need help, being kind simply because it’s the right thing to do, making sure students understand the lesson, or by just being exceptionally likable. This year, the teacher to receive the award is going to be decided on by the Student Council, whereas previously it was voted on by all students.
The month of November was the first Thumbs Up Award given out in the entire 2024-25 school year, which makes it extra special. Which teacher got the award? None other than our Chemistry and Physics teacher, Mrs. Holly! The Student Council decided that Mrs. Holly deserved the award because she is passionate about her subjects, she loves her students, and she is very hard-working. Most importantly, Mrs. Holly has done a lot over the last few years that have gone unrecognized.
When asked about how she felt getting the award, Mrs. Holly responded, “It was a bright spot in my year to be recognized, because this has been a place where I’ve been able to escape reality, and getting this was a great treat.”
So when you see Mrs. Holly in the hallways or in her classes, be sure to give her a big Thumbs Up for all of her hard work!
