With Thanksgiving just around the corner, some of our teachers were asked what they were thankful for at Dee-Mack this year. As you go through, you’ll notice a very common theme between all of them.
Mrs. Fogle pointed out the love she has for her friends and students, saying:
“I am thankful for many colleagues that I consider friends and thankful for the wonderful students that I get to see everyday. Each student is important and wonderful to me.”
Similarly, Mrs. Sands said:
“I am thankful for the kindness and support my students give to our Little Chief preschoolers. I am also thankful for the high school students in all of my classes supporting one another. To see that community, makes Dee-Mack an awesome place to be.”
Our supervisor here at The Red & White Review, Ms. Hammond, said:
“I’m thankful for all my students who play along with my silly little whims and experiments, especially this Journalism group. They’ve been the guinea pigs of all guinea pigs this year, and even though they can be as discombobulated as I am, they’ve done a good job just rolling with the chaos. Also jeans days. Love a jeans day.”
Many teachers and staff responded to share what they were thankful for at Dee-Mack, and they are as follows:
- “That I can lean on my co-workers for support on the hard days.” – Mrs. Smallwood
- “The great friendships I have made over my 7 years here!” – Mrs. Pool
- “A school, both students and staff, who are always looking at how we can make things that are already good, better!” – Mr. Hill
- “The sense of autonomy I have in my role and the unique interactions I have with students.” – Mrs. Patterson
- “I love that we are a unit district-we get our students from beginning to end.” – Mrs. Gresham
- “Amazing staff and admin and the relationships with the students.” – Mr. Uhlman
- “My students are just lovely and the best around. They make me laugh, and they give me a reason to play with chemicals!” – Mrs. Holly
- “I am thankful for our wonderful group of students who visit me every day in the library!” – Mr. McCoy
- “The opportunity to coach a golf team.” – Mr. Miller
- “The co-workers who become family.” – Ms. Hoit
- “The opportunity to be a part of the lives of all you wonderful students.” – Mr. Stokes
So as our teachers expressed their thankfulness for us here, let us show our thankfulness for them. Let us continue to give them something to be thankful for at the school in our behavior and our actions. Whether it’s saying “hi” to them in the hallway or telling them to have a nice day, it is important for us to show our appreciation for the wonderful people who educate us day after day. Thank you, teachers.
