Mrs. Wass is the new secretary at Dee-Mack High School. We are so grateful for her to be a part of our tribe! Mrs. Wass and I sat down for an interview so we could get to know the face behind the office desk.
Mrs. Wass moved here from Santa Clarita, California, and chose to work here at Dee-Mack because it was close to her new house. She also appreciates the community, adding, “Working in school helps contribute to the community, that’s why I choose to work in the school environment.”
When asked about her favorite thing about being a part of the tribe here at Dee-Mack, Mrs. Wass said that her favorite thing about it is helping students in any way she can. Something she is looking forward to this year is learning who the kids are, developing relationships with others, and getting to know everyone. Some of her everyday tasks are as simply as taking attendance
In response to the question of why she decided to work in a school atmosphere, Mrs. Wass replied, “I used to work in an after school program and really enjoyed it, and I remember growing up in a good school environment and I want to help contribute to the way kids see school.”
Her favorite thing that has happened so far this year is when she went on her honeymoon. In March she got Maizie and then moved.
She likes to do so many things during her freetime, which means she can’t ever be bored! Things that she likes to do are cooking, being outside, doing outdoor activities, and spending time with her husband. She will be celebrating her one year with her husband in October. Family is important to Mrs. Wass. Especially her puppy, Maizie, who’s a blue heeler mix.
We are so excited to see Mrs. Wass grow and blossom here at Dee-Mack. If you get a chance I’m sure if you ask you can see a picture of Maizie, she is truly adorable! While doing that make sure to show your gratitude for her joining us and being the face we all see when we enter the school.
