In Summer of 2026, Dee-Mack students have the opportunity to take on Greece. Ms. Tompkins, the leader of the trip and Group Chaperone, and Ms. Hammond will take students abroad for 9 days to learn and explore the great cities of Greece.
There will be an informational meeting on Monday, September 11th at 5:30 PM in Ms. Tompkins’ room (Room 123). This meeting will cover finer details regarding payment plans, more information about flight and stay, and what students would be doing during their time away. Parents and students are both welcome! If not able to attend, there will be a QR code to scan, that includes all information.
This nine day exclusion includes stops in Athens, Corinth, Argolida, Epidarius, Olympia, and Delphi. The trip will be from June 19th until July 3rd (exact days TBD) costing roughly four thousand dollars per student. This expense covers flights, hotels, food, and any other sources of traveling. Students attending are required to fund themselves if they would like souvenirs or any extra personal items. All restaurants that the group will attend are pre-planned and prepaid. The plane will depart from Peoria, IL airport, with a domestic layover, and then land in Athens, Greece.
In Ms. Tompkins’ senior year of college, she traveled through EF Tours (the program that Dee-Mack travels with) to eight different countries. EF Tours is an educational tour company that takes students all over the world to bring classroom learning to life. They educate students about different cultures and the history of countries. Ms. Tompkins and students will be led by EF Tour Guides throughout the trip. Ms. Tompkins is excited for this trip and has no worries, saying, “I’m confident in my abilities to travel.”
In addition to this exotic trip, there will be a few excursions students will be attending. On day six, there will be a “Greek evening,” which involves a traditional Greek dinner and theatrical culture night, linking arms for a night of music and dancing. On day eight, the students will be island hopping, traveling through the islands of the Saronic Gulf for a full day, with breathtaking scenery and memorable experiences.
