Mrs. Uner is a cherished teacher here at Dee-Mack High School. She is most commonly known for being the junior year math teacher, in addition to statistics, as well as some study hall classes. She has been teaching here for a total of eight years, being a math teacher every year. Before teaching, she was an engineer for 15 years. Though she loved working in this field, she wanted a better work-life balance for herself. Mrs. Uner wisely offers,“It’s hard to balance a career and a family and do it right.” As well as, “It’s hard to balance a career and family and do it right”
Mrs. Uner’s life at home consists of her 19 year long marriage, and her two children, one being a junior in high school, the other in 7th grade, as well as the family’s dog named Daisy Mae, and their cat Jasper. In her free time, Mrs. Uner enjoys crafting, playing with her pets, and reading, her favorite book genre being romcom “with fantasy mixed in.”
In high school, Mrs. Uner chose to play soccer. For college, she decided to attend the University of Illinois for her engineering degree, later transferring to Illinois State University to receive her teaching degree.
Next, are some small facts to get a better idea of who Mrs. Uner is as a person or individual. Mrs. Uner’s favorite color is purple, she’s a big fan of Italian food, and her candy of choice is “any kind of chocolate, all flavors of chocolate.”
Mrs. Uner is and continues to be an inspiration to everybody she interacts with. Always willing to offer her adult perspective and wisdom for anybody curious. To some, Mrs. Uner plays a significantly positive role in their lives, influencing them in a more positive direction. She will always be committed to finding a solution for any of your problems, willing to invest the necessary amount of time to find a solution. It’s important for young students to have this positive support they could potentially be lacking in their everyday home life. We’re all very thankful to have a teacher such as herself here at Dee-Mack.
