Struggling to find the right Christmas for your parents? You spend every day with them but still aren’t sure of the perfect gift. Well, after going around and asking teachers what they would want from their children, I narrowed it down to a few different categories of gifts. In my experience, the main struggle could be due to two different reasons. We either struggle to find something that would feel meaningful to them coming from us or feel as though we can never find the correct thing to suit either parent.
On the mother’s side, we got some intel that any jewelry, spa days, or any comfy clothes would make great gifts. After asking multiple moms throughout the school, there was a common theme of wanting their kids to just be happy and safe. A mothers care is stronger than anything so if you find something that could show any appreciation for everything she does for you, that would also make a great gift. Tangible gifts listed above are things that will satisfy but also not be too pricey. Spa days could be at an actual spa with a certificate or just getting your mom a nice new robe to wear when she is having a chill day! Perfumes, pursues, and blankets also make a great gift! No matter the gift, moms will always appreciate you going out of your way to do something for them!
If you’re looking for gifts for your dad, just remember the 3 “G”s: Grilling, Games, and Gills. Mr. Holmgren, Mr. Finney, and Mr. Stokes all agreed that they wouldn’t mind anything to help spice up their grilling. That could include seasonings, grilling tools, or even a new grill. Games could range from sports, board games, or card games. If your dad has a favorite sports team that he just can’t get over (no matter how bad they are), you could get him a sweatshirt or a t-shirt of the team. Board games always make for a fun family game night! The final “G” is gills or fishing. A new pole, tackle box, or bait makes for a great day of fun with dad out at the lake. Remember to just go with your gut and trust one of the “G’s” to make your dads Christmas a little brighter!
Parents can be tough to shop for but trusting yourself and your judgment make it easy to find the perfect gift. Your parents will appreciate the time and thoughtfulness of anything you give to them! Merry Christmas!
