Welcome back to Dee-Mack’s Student Art Gallery.
This month will feature students in the Introduction to Art class, Rudy Gilbert, Kenlea Brown, Noah Burrell, and Piper Coats. In the Intro to Art class taught by Ms. Leach, they are creating pop art. Pop art is a type of art that focuses on values of color.
Rudy Gilbert described her pop art as a pig that is painted by using the value scale, a shade of colors from 1-5 from lightest to darkest. It is 4 boxes of the same pig in different colors. Rudy is using pastel colors such as green, pink, purple, blue, and yellow. This project will take about two weeks to complete.
Kenlea Brown is creating pop art of a whale using bright colors such as blue, yellow, orange, and two shades of pink.
Piper Coats’ pop art is a Call of Duty character. She is creating this piece with neon colors. She says her project will take about two and a half weeks total.
Noah Burrell is creating pop art of Steve Prefontaine, an American distance runner for the University of Oregon. Noah used many vibrant colors, but he tried to focus on yellow and green to make them stand out. He says this will take him about a week and a half total to create.
Check out the photos of these students and their art! Make sure to look for the next art gallery coming in January!
